The novel is a conglomerate of more than 40 years of professional activities, shaped by professors, colleagues and patients who taught the author more than they knew.
That experience runs from child and family therapy to forensic evaluations, from Army posts and veterans’ care to a state children’s mental health division, and from adjunct teaching to continuing education for fellow psychologists.
Professor Stona, the novel’s teacher, is a character. The questions he asks his students are the ones the author has asked for a lifetime.
